Therefore, a brightness adjustment ratio needs to be set before the product is shipped from the factory. This allows consumers to find the right brightness setting for their eyes, preventing situations where they can’t find a suitable brightness setting and then filing a customer complaint.
Next, let’s look at a case study from one of Allion’s clients in the past. A laptop’s display brightness can be controlled through the BIOS. The brightness levels are all set in advance, allowing users to adjust them to their liking. We then use an oscilloscope to measure the PWM output signal and a light meter to measure the brightness at each corner plus the center of the display. The values are then averaged to see if they are up to standard. If they are not, it could cause the brightness intervals to be inconsistent. This issue is something that should be dealt with early in the process of product development.
