● EU Removes References to IEC 62680 (USB) Specifications
Reverts to USB specification naming schema
The EU will no longer refer to the IEC standards naming in their new regulations and they are in the process of changing the references back to the original USB-IF specifications naming
The USB-IF will be updating its IEC Conformity Program naming to align with the EU updated references/naming
This also entails updating USB-IF’s conformity and certification notices to ensure they are consistent with the updated naming
Final naming will be USB-IF EU Conformity to USB Specifications (full name) and EU Conformity (website sub-heading)
The USB-IF plans to Implement EU Conformity QbS program in Q2’25
● SPR and EPR Adjustable Voltage Supply (AVS)
USB PD CTS test equipment currently test SPR and EPR AVS capabilities
Test steps have been updated in newest USB PD CTS release
Will require additional testing using the QuadraMAX 2 test equipment in the future
Will use more precise voltage steps and test multiple ports at once
● USB Power Delivery Version Control
USB PD 3.2 v1.1 Silicon certifications eligible
USB PD 3.1 v1.8 to USB PD 3.2 v1.1 End-Product certifications eligible
